The influence of the inner voice

Description

The influence of the inner voice

At the age of twelve, a voice takes hold of Oihana's life. A cold, methodical, relentless voice that demands thinness and condemns every deviation. Within a few months, her world becomes hell: calories counted every hour, rituals that multiply, fainting spells, hospital visits, feeding tubes falling onto the tile floor, parents who cry without knowing how to help her. Eight years in which her body fades away.
This story of rare sincerity delves into the mechanics of anorexia: the fear of “getting fat again,” the coldness that eats away at the bones, the shame, the isolation, the OCD that invades every gesture. But also the tenuous forces that save her: her studies, pursued despite exhaustion, friendships that endure, and love that will eventually crack the grip of The Voice. The love of a man who offers her refuge, a non-judgmental gaze, and the strength to reclaim her body, her freedom, and her life.
Des larmes et des os is a powerful testimony, essential for loved ones, educators, caregivers, or anyone seeking to understand this illness. A moving story told with rare intensity.

Oihana Bachelet, 24, is a tattoo artist in Toulouse.
